Getting Married at St Leonard's

We’d love to help you plan your special day and walk with you as you take this important step together.

A church wedding is about more than just the venue – it’s about love, faith, and inviting God’s blessing into your life together. You’ll get to make beautiful promises in a peaceful, meaningful setting, surrounded by history and community.

Why choose a church wedding?

  • You’ll have a personal, spiritual ceremony with prayers, Bible readings, and hymns – all chosen by you.

  • Our clergy will work with you to shape a service that’s personal and heartfelt, while still following the traditional Church of England pattern.

  • You’re not just booking a venue – you’re building a connection with a church community that will continue to support you beyond your wedding day.

  • Whether your wedding is simple or grand, we’ll help you make it beautiful, joyful and yours.

Can I get married here?

You can marry at St Leonard’s Church, Beoley if just one of you has a connection with the church or area – for example, if you or your parents:

  • Live or have lived in the parish (for at least 6 months)

  • Were baptised or confirmed here

  • Were married here.

(If not, don’t worry – you can still become connected by attending for a short time. We’ll help you with that.)

If one or both of you has been married before, that’s okay. We’ll just arrange a short, confidential chat with the vicar.

How much does it cost?

In 2025, the legal fee for a church wedding is:

  • £581 if you marry in your home parish

  • £636 if you marry elsewhere

This covers the vicar, the church, your banns, documents and admin.
Extras like the organist, choir or bells are available – we’ll explain these when you book.

Please note: Marriage certificates are now issued online after the wedding.

What about preparation?

We offer:

  • A marriage preparation session to help you think about the vows you’ll make

  • A wedding rehearsal to walk through the day

  • Support from us at every step – as much or as little as you need
