Healing Eucharist

A gentle space for prayer, healing, and hope

Our Healing Eucharist is a prayerful and peaceful service, woven into the familiar rhythm of Holy Communion, but with a particular focus on healing – of body, mind, spirit, relationships, or memories. It is open to all who seek comfort, strength, or healing, whether for themselves or on behalf of someone else.

This service alternates between our two churches:

  • St Leonard’s on the 3rd Sunday of alternate months

  • St Laurence’s, Alvechurch on the 4th Sunday of alternate months

  •

At its heart, the Healing Eucharist is about offering ourselves honestly to God, just as we are. In addition to receiving the bread and wine of Communion, there is space for laying on of hands and anointing with oil – ancient Christian practices that symbolise the healing presence of the Holy Spirit.

If you wish, you may come forward during the service to receive prayer and anointing. A minister will gently anoint your hands with holy oil, a sign of God’s love and healing grace. You are welcome to share the reason for your prayer—or to remain silent, trusting that God already knows and holds what is on your heart.

Some come for physical healing, some for peace amid stress or grief, others to pray quietly for a loved one. All are welcome.

This is a service marked by gentleness, compassion, and deep stillness. It’s a time to pause, to be held in God’s presence, and to receive grace. Whether this is your first time or you come often, you will find space here to breathe, to hope, and to rest in the presence of Christ.

As with all our worship, you’re invited to take part in whatever way feels right for you. There is no pressure, only welcome.

If your soul is weary, your heart full, or your faith fragile—come. This is a place where God meets us in our longing, and where, together, we find healing and peace.
