If you would like to make enquiries or arrangements for a Wedding (or Blessing or Renewal Service) we hold sessions twice per month at St Leonard’s Church. These are on 1st and 3rd Thursdays during peak season and once per month in the winter months from 6pm – 8pm. No appointment is needed just pop along where we will have a team of people readying to welcome you and guide you though your booking and planning.

Questions

The first step is to check your eligibility. The Church of England is both a religious and a legal body when it comes to weddings. To be able to have a church wedding, you will need to have a Qualifying Connection: full details can be found at YourChurchWedding.org or you can email Revd Gail at revdgail@icloud.com

It is usually possible for divorcees to marry in church and it will be necessary to have an interview with the Team Vicar before making a booking in order to see whether a church wedding would be suitable.

Marriage Preparation
All couples will be invited to a preparation session, which is compulsory where one or both partners have been married before but is well worth going to in any case. These take place roughly six months before the date of the wedding.

Christenings (Baptism)

In baptism, we thank God for his gift of life and publicly acknowledge his love.  Baptism and Christenings are the same thing and we’d be delighted to discuss holding your baptism at St Leonard’s.

You will normally need to live in the parish of Redditch Holy Trinity to have a Baptism here you can check this by going on the A Church Near You website. Before booking a baptism at St Leonard’s, you will be invited to attend Baptism Preparation, where you will find out what baptism is, what the service involves and be able to ask any questions you have.

To find out when the next Baptism Preparation is, please contact Revd Gail at revdgail@icloud.com.

Funerals

St Leonard’s Church offers a fitting and dignified location to say farewell to a loved one and our ministers will work to make sure that the service is as personal and relevant as possible within the setting of our ancient building. We can also lead funeral services at the local crematorium.

All residents of our parish are entitled to a funeral service in church, as are those with a connection to St Leonard’s Church. If you would like to find out more, please contact Revd Gail at revdgail@icloud.com

St Leonard’s Churchyard offers a peaceful and attractive final resting place and we can accommodate burials and ashes interments after a Christian funeral service. Arrangements can be made with the vicar Revd Gail.
