The final tower of the day was St Martin's, Osmaston, (6,15-3-19 in F), and for the first time today we gained access to the ringing chamber from an external door in the base of the tower. There was quite a climb up the stone spiral staircase, but when we arrived in the ringing chamber, we weren't disappointed. This was the heaviest ring of the day, but the bells had been rehung in 2004 and were quite easy to strike well. We enjoyed ringing both Plain Hunt and Bob Doubles here. |

| During a rest from ringing, we again heard the strains of the organ from the church below. It transpired that our other organist (who was also a ringer) had decided to share his talents too! This time around though, the walls of the tower were sufficient to keep back "Jerusalem" and we were able to conclude our day with an accurate fall After releasing the clock hammers, we joined the rest of our coach party in The Shoulder of Mutton for suitable refreshments. |
