| The final tower of the morning was St Chad's, Longford, (6, 15-0-23 in F). Here, we were advised that the Tenor (heaviest bell) was difficult to raise and this proved to be quite a challenge to our Tower Captain. |
 |
Once the bells were up, we managed some good ringing, but noticed that the bells were difficult to hear in the ringing chamber. This became more of a challenge when one of our party was invited to play the organ by the local Vicar. Her playing was delightful, but this then made the bells impossible to hear!! |

| As we left the church, we discovered that the residents of the neighbouring Hall had come over to try and see the bride. Apparently the appearance of the coach, combined with the ringing of the bells had convinced them that a wedding was taking place! |
