Our first tower of the day was All Saints, Sudbury, ([a ring of] 6, 9-3-0 in F#), a tower we had previously visited in May 1969. We had to park the coach in the nearby National Trust car park and walk to the church, which was beside the Hall. As with all the towers we visited today, we were met by a local ringer who showed us into the ringing chamber. After raising the bells, some ringers gained experience of ringing with a long draught for the very first time. We produced some creditable striking during our visit here. |
