The seventy-eighth Beoley Ringers’ Outing left St Leonard’s Church on its traditional second Saturday in May (13/5/06).
This year we decided to visit five churches in Oxfordshire, basing ourselves around Witney: St Nicholas, Chadlington, All Saints, Spelsbury, St Mary's, Charlbury, St James the Great, South Leigh and St Michael's, Stanton Harcourt.
Setting off at 8am, we went via Church Lench to pick up the ringers from All Saints, then headed to our first tower of the day.
At about six, the first raindrops of the day began to fall, and we made our way back home through a variety of downpours. We eventually arrived at Beoley at 8pm.
The ringers would like to thank all of the towers visited for their kind hospitality, particularly, St. Mary’s Charlbury for providing refreshments. – Here’s to next year’s outing! Watch this space for details…! |
